WhatsApp channel

Connect your clinic's WhatsApp Business Account, keep an eye on number health, and set the channel's compliance policy. This is now the WhatsApp tab under Settings, in the Channels section. Your clinic owns the account and pays Meta directly; this page is where you set it up and keep it healthy.

What you can do here

Overview

The connection card shows your account's status and business verification. Each phone number gets a health card with its quality rating, daily conversation limit, and sending speed, so a problem is visible before patients notice it.

Guided connection

Get connected walks you through four steps: a short readiness checklist, Meta's own signup window (which creates or connects the account and verifies your number by text or voice call), a status check, and recommended next steps. If the window is blocked or closed early, the wizard explains exactly how to recover.

Numbers

Every registered number in one table, with its registration state and quality. Open a number for full health details and to make it the default sender for outbound messages. Middle digits are masked on screen.

Display name

The business name patients see in their WhatsApp chat list, with its review status. Name changes are made in Meta's WhatsApp Manager and go through a Meta review; the status here updates automatically.

Compliance policy

WhatsApp does not offer the confidentiality agreements healthcare requires, so patient health information must never be sent on it. The policy controls how strictly outgoing messages are checked: block them, warn the sender, or turn checking off.

Do-not-contact registry

Review and add suppressed phone numbers. Removing a block requires approved re-opt-in or correction evidence and never creates consent by itself. The removal form explains each controlled reason so administrators can choose the exact reviewed outcome rather than enter a code.

Plan and usage

The overview shows your clinic's plan and this month's metered usage against its limits, so quota surprises never happen mid-campaign.

Follow these steps

Connect your account

  1. Open Get connected and complete the readiness checklist.
  2. Select Continue with Meta and finish the steps in Meta's window; keep popups allowed for this site.
  3. When the window closes, the wizard registers your number automatically and shows its status.
  4. Finish by picking a default sender and setting the compliance policy.

Watch number health

  1. Check the Overview after your first campaigns: the quality rating reacts to how patients receive your messages.
  2. If quality turns yellow or red, slow down promotional sends and review what you sent recently.
  3. Open a number in the Numbers tab for its messaging limit and sending speed.

Set the channel policy

  1. Open Compliance and pick how outgoing messages are checked.
  2. Keep Block on unless your team has clear training; it stops medical details from leaving on this channel.
  3. When removing a delivery block, choose the described controlled reason and record the approved evidence reference.

Helpful habits

  • Complete Meta business verification early: unverified businesses can only start conversations with 250 unique patients per day.
  • Keep WhatsApp for scheduling, reminders, directions, and general questions; anything clinical belongs in secure channels.
  • Watch the quality rating after big sends; a red rating can lower your daily conversation limit.

Tips

  • The signup window is Meta's own; if it does not open, allow popups for this site and try again.
  • An ad blocker can stop Meta's signup component from loading; pause it for this page if the wizard says so.
  • The default sender is the number used when your team writes to a patient first.
  • Phone numbers are shown with their middle digits masked; the full number lives with Meta.
